Fair stay!

Reasonably clean despite rather aged hotel! Good variety of complementary snacks and canned drinks in the room!

Location is not near to Hualien's city center. Local bus service around the area is poor. However thanks to hotel's shuttle, fixed-scheduled service to transportation hub (Train or bus station) is good!

Great for families and Taroko gorge

Nice big room. We had a Family room and it was very nice. The bathroom is not big that was great to have a bath. The pool area is very nice and there is a sand area for the kids, and a pool for small children. The kids space is awesome, very big, lots of games and books with different rooms. And it is open from 8am to 10 pm. We went to Taroko gorge from it, very easy and just a 40 min journey.

The staff did not speak English, we had some incomprehension. The pool area closes between 5-6pm and we found it an odd time to close as it is when people are going to the pool.

Stormy Vacation but cozy hotel

We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and the welcome snacks. Because of the tropical storm, we couldn’t use the swimming pool which was one of the reasons we booked Chateau de Chine. We were happy that our dog stayed for free although it was in a crate inside the “pet room.”

We never had such severe weather that we would contact the hotel to cancel or change our booking. However the day of our vacation, there were emergency alerts and flood warnings about traveling to our destination. It would have been considerate if the hotel would have allowed us to change our dates so to protect their clients from driving in severe weather. We did arrive safely although it was unpredictable and stressful. We would have loved this hotel much more for being more protective of their hotel guests versus profits.

The buffet breakfast is good but you tend to get a bit fed up with the options after 3 days as they don't really change any of the dishes. The dinner buffet was excellent though.

There aren't many good restaurant options nearby. Weekends, they are open but not during the week. You will need a car to go to the nightmarket.

Great place for a family stay

The requests I made when I booked were prepared and ready when we checked in. Most of the staff spoke English well. Great buffet available for both dinner and breakfast. Convenient, free parking around the corner of the hotel.

Great food and lovely pool

Breakfast and dinner at the Soaring Cloud restaurant were excellent. A lot of selection. The BBQ snacks during Happy hour is a really nice touch.

Everyone had to clear the pool area from 5-5.30pm while they cleaned it. One day we could stay and hang out, the next day we all had to leave. This is prime swimming time. Perhaps clean in the evening.
